Bitten by Vampires...

Yeah. Okay. I admit it. I've fallen prey. I wanna be a vampire! I just finished reading the final book in the Bella/Edward saga and I LOVED IT! This is not your typical vampire series; these vampires are good, wholesome, have values and a strong sense of family ties. There's just the right amount of emotion, passion and longing in the novels but nothing steamy, overtly sexual or immoral. I'm so proud of the author, Stephenie Meyer, for writing a great series that both young adult (around 13 or 14 years of age) and old adults can enjoy. She's a great example of Standing for Something...her passion for writing combined with her values as an LDS woman make for a great role model for young and old alike. The books (in order) are: Twilight New Moon Eclipse Breaking Dawn Read them. You'll love them. I promise!!! You'll want to be a vampire too!

Words of Wisdom....

One of my friends emailed this to me today and I loved it and wanted to share it with whomever happens to stumble upon my blog. Enjoy.... HOW TO REALLY LIVE 1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant. 2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to. 3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today.' 4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants. 5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli , almonds & walnuts. 6. Try to make at least three people smile each day. 7. Don't waste your precious energy on energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment. 8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out

So far...so good!

Back to school... Something I never thought we'd do again. But we did it.... And we liked it. So far...so good. Great teachers, great kids....great first week. I'm a mommy again....just a mommy, not a teacher....and I feel....freer. I've had the opportunity to miss my kids; to be excited to see them; to have a conversation with them about their day; to share; to laugh; to read together. To be 'with' them as I haven't been for a very long while. As a homeschooler I was always with them but rarely 'with' them....quality vs. quantity. Morgan said she liked the fact that she gets to miss me during the day. Weird eh? So far...so good...we are all finding new emotions; new strengths;new refuges and we are all enthusiastic about it! Woo hoo! (for lack of a better word!)
