Walk With Me...and her...and her....and her...and her

You may remember our Black Friday escapade last November? (If you are a new reader, or have a short memory, click HERE for a recap) Anyway, last November as we parked our very hungry butts in the booth at Maggiano's Miss Kay came up with the amazing idea that we should all re-assemble in July, take a three hour drive down to the US, shop and have dinner at Maggiano's to celebrate our birthdays. All 5 of us agreed...because really, July seemed soooo far away that it was easy to say "SURE!"...and we all forgot about it. But not Miss Kay who, I might add, has a memory that would make an elephant hide it's brain in shame. June rolled around and out popped an email from Miss Kay reminding us of our plan. Well, we all juggled our schedules to make things work and in July we found ourselves breaking out in the early dawn, armed with Starbucks, a catchy music CD, a van and a lot of excitement. Yes, we shopped 'til we dropped, yes we all got schmexy pedicur...

Walk With Me...Again

Image
It's been awhile since I've done an installment of the whereabouts of my feet (a post I lovingly call, "Walk With Me). My feet have been around (pronounce that word with a hint of seduction and raise one eyebrow when you say it). They've been to the Olympics (4 times!!)  where they saw Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir take home the first GOLD ever for Canada in pairs ice dancing.  They rocked out in the corporate box to Hedley (who happen to be one of their favorite bands!) and to Great Big Sea where they made their way all the way from the nosebleed seats to front and centre on the floor (much thanks to Mo and her big hat!).  My feet have been ice skating on Robson Square--the hub of the downtown Olympic experience---and they cried the ugly cry while watching their daughter's feet dance at the opening ceremonies of the Paralympics (to a packed crowd of 60,000 people!  Yikes!!).  My feet lead a pretty charmed life. Here are my tootsies at the Pacific Colis...

Walk a mile in my shoes...

Image
It has been said that if you really want to get to know someone you should walk a mile in their shoes. Come on a virtual walk with me and my shoes (and sometimes my bare-naked tootsies! Eeek, how immodest!) and see where we've been this summer! I can not even begin to describe the beauty of Shannon Falls. It looked like something out of a Jurassic Park movie set...nature in it's original, untouched state. Absolutely beautiful. My feet really can't even do it justice (although they are sporting a very funky color on their toenails.) My feet were a bit reluctant to go much closer than this to Brandywyne Falls (our second stop on the way to Whistler, BC). My head said, "Yeah! Let's ride that sucker down with all the gusto we've got!!", but my feet refused to move. Darn, because THAT would have been a fun story to tell!! Ahhh...water that my feet can greet with glee--no stones, no waterfalls, no fear~just chlorine-blue and warm! We greeted each morning and bid...
