Yes, it's true--I am going to update my blog.

It's been a while, and frankly, I just haven't had enough sarcasm in me to make the effort of typing words on a little screen worthwhile to you nor to me, but today something is different. I have had a splurt of energy. The most I've had in ages. I even came home from work and vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom and did two loads of laundry!

Maybe it's because I ate meat.

Nah...that can't be it.

I've eaten meat twice this week and had only one burst of energy. (quite the vegetarian aren't I?)

Don't judge.

Anyhooo...since I am so far behind, I am going to attempt to only partially get caught up. I'm going to spare you most of the details--or else I'll just surreptitiously stick it all in on the next couple of posts and catch you completely unaware...ugh, digressing again...so soon.

So, here are some pictures of the first day of school. My babies are growing up!! I can't believe that my first born has left elementary school and has stretched her wings and flown off to high school! My second born is immersed in French, and my last born is in a gr 2/3 split! Where did the time go? Wasn't it just yesterday that I was holding my first born's hand while she learned to walk, or nursed my second born until she fell fast asleep, or stroked the cheek of my last baby while he slept and dreamed of a wonderful life for him? At what point, exactly, did I blink and they all grew up?

The earth stood still today. No, it wasn't because the planets were aligned. No, it wasn't because yesterday's date was 10/10/10 (which happens only once every 1000 years) No, it wasn't because the month of October has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, in it which, according to Facebook (and we know how reliable that is),only happens once every 823 years. Well if this doesn't completely rock your socks then I don't know what will: Taylor Lautner AND Tom Cruise staring in a movie.. together l  And it's about airplanes!   It's TOP GUN all over again people!  I'm just too excited for words. Now, yes, I admit, Tom did crash and burn in my books after the couch incident on Oprah; and after marrying Katie whats-her-name, but all in all, I still like him.  As long as he doesn't open his mouth except to speak his lines in a movie. And Taylor Lautner.  I know, right?  What a beauty!  I don't have a crush or anything on him (puhlease, I could be his MOTHER!) but my eyes do appreciate the view when he's on the screen.  Yes, my eyes, and ONLY my eyes.  Now, as far as crushes go, you need to talk to my daughter.   Taylor adorns practically every inch of her bedroom walls. Happy 20th Anniversary to Us!!

Yeah, so the old man and I have been hitched for 20 years today.  Been together for 30 years (yes, we started dating when we were BABIES!) and yes, I have been with him for more than 1/2 of my life.  That's pretty crazy when you think of it...he's been there for EVERY major milestone of my life, and I for his.  It's pretty hard for either of us to pull a 'remember when' memory from a period of our lives in which the other person wasn't present.  Oh sure we went off and did things separately, like I lifeguarded for 2 summers in a little town in the Interior, and he lived in the Okanagan for about a year, and he climbed mountains with friends and did hikes that I wasn't part of,  but we were still a couple.   We started dating when I was 14 and he was 17--I had to get special permission from my parents to date him because I wasn't allowed until I was 16.  I remember the discussion quite vividly and my parents agreed to allow him to come over, and to take
