I'm so excited! We acquired this little bistro set a couple of years ago and I absolutely loved it but lately it's been looking old, tired and dated so I went to Home Depot, grabbed myself a couple of cans of espresso satin finish spray paint and voila, infused new life into my little bistro. We also had a bench downstairs that hubby built over 20 years ago--inside our one bedroom apartment--that has just been taking up space so I moved it outside, put some pillows on it and tried to make a conversation area. I am very happy with the results. In fact, this morning I sat outside on my bench, drank my morning shake and listened to my scriptures...in the SUNSHINE...and it was glorious. Amazing what a little creativity, a couple of cans of paint, and some knick knacks can do! Come on over anytime and enjoy my little piece of heaven with me!


Yucky. Boring. Cold. Sterile.

Inviting.  Warm. Friendly.

Almost perfect.  Need the bench to be a different color.

Well if this doesn't completely rock your socks then I don't know what will: Taylor Lautner AND Tom Cruise staring in a movie.. together l  And it's about airplanes!   It's TOP GUN all over again people!  I'm just too excited for words. Now, yes, I admit, Tom did crash and burn in my books after the couch incident on Oprah; and after marrying Katie whats-her-name, but all in all, I still like him.  As long as he doesn't open his mouth except to speak his lines in a movie. And Taylor Lautner.  I know, right?  What a beauty!  I don't have a crush or anything on him (puhlease, I could be his MOTHER!) but my eyes do appreciate the view when he's on the screen.  Yes, my eyes, and ONLY my eyes.  Now, as far as crushes go, you need to talk to my daughter.   Taylor adorns practically every inch of her bedroom walls. The earth stood still today. No, it wasn't because the planets were aligned. No, it wasn't because yesterday's date was 10/10/10 (which happens only once every 1000 years) No, it wasn't because the month of October has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, in it which, according to Facebook (and we know how reliable that is),only happens once every 823 years. No, it was more phenomenal then all of that. It was because I ironed. Sheets. Yes, I actually ironed sheets. Now, you need to understand that I only pick up my iron to move it from one location to another. Typically if something needs ironing one of three things happens: 1. it stays wrinkled 2. it hangs in my closet until gravity pulls the wrinkles out over time 3. I go and buy a new item of clothing. I just don't iron! So why did I do it today, you may ask? It was my front load washer and dryer's fault. It made Kiki's new bedding so wrinkly that I just could not stand to let

Happy 20th Anniversary to Us!!

Yeah, so the old man and I have been hitched for 20 years today.  Been together for 30 years (yes, we started dating when we were BABIES!) and yes, I have been with him for more than 1/2 of my life.  That's pretty crazy when you think of it...he's been there for EVERY major milestone of my life, and I for his.  It's pretty hard for either of us to pull a 'remember when' memory from a period of our lives in which the other person wasn't present.  Oh sure we went off and did things separately, like I lifeguarded for 2 summers in a little town in the Interior, and he lived in the Okanagan for about a year, and he climbed mountains with friends and did hikes that I wasn't part of,  but we were still a couple.   We started dating when I was 14 and he was 17--I had to get special permission from my parents to date him because I wasn't allowed until I was 16.  I remember the discussion quite vividly and my parents agreed to allow him to come over, and to take
