All dressed up and nowhere to go...

Monday morning. Jump out of bed like toast popping out of the toaster. Ready to seize the day. Shoot...I'm ready to seize the WEEK, brother!!

Get all gussied up in my finest--skirt, nice top, scarf and going to wear my dressy boots for the first time this season--and am planning to go into the office to 'take on the world!' (or at least tackle some of the paperwork cluttering my desk) when a fanfare ringtone sounds on my phone. That would be my hubby. I chose this ringtone for him because it sounds royal and he likes to think he's the king around here. (Bah ha ha haaa! I will just let him have that...)

On the text are 5 little words that change the entire course of my day:

"Oops, I took your keys by mistake."

(I see what you did there --bravo for you for noticing that there are actually seven words, not five.)

No keys means no access to my office so off comes the skirt, the top, the fancy scarf. On goes the jeans with just the right amount of lycra, the t-shirt, and my favorite jean jacket. I still put on a scarf though cuz I'm just in the mood for one today.

Guess I'll go to Costco...

Sounds like a fair trade off, no?

The earth stood still today. No, it wasn't because the planets were aligned. No, it wasn't because yesterday's date was 10/10/10 (which happens only once every 1000 years) No, it wasn't because the month of October has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, in it which, according to Facebook (and we know how reliable that is),only happens once every 823 years. Well if this doesn't completely rock your socks then I don't know what will: Taylor Lautner AND Tom Cruise staring in a movie.. together l  And it's about airplanes!   It's TOP GUN all over again people!  I'm just too excited for words. Now, yes, I admit, Tom did crash and burn in my books after the couch incident on Oprah; and after marrying Katie whats-her-name, but all in all, I still like him.  As long as he doesn't open his mouth except to speak his lines in a movie. And Taylor Lautner.  I know, right?  What a beauty!  I don't have a crush or anything on him (puhlease, I could be his MOTHER!) but my eyes do appreciate the view when he's on the screen.  Yes, my eyes, and ONLY my eyes.  Now, as far as crushes go, you need to talk to my daughter.   Taylor adorns practically every inch of her bedroom walls. Happy 20th Anniversary to Us!!

Yeah, so the old man and I have been hitched for 20 years today.  Been together for 30 years (yes, we started dating when we were BABIES!) and yes, I have been with him for more than 1/2 of my life.  That's pretty crazy when you think of it...he's been there for EVERY major milestone of my life, and I for his.  It's pretty hard for either of us to pull a 'remember when' memory from a period of our lives in which the other person wasn't present.  Oh sure we went off and did things separately, like I lifeguarded for 2 summers in a little town in the Interior, and he lived in the Okanagan for about a year, and he climbed mountains with friends and did hikes that I wasn't part of,  but we were still a couple.   We started dating when I was 14 and he was 17--I had to get special permission from my parents to date him because I wasn't allowed until I was 16.  I remember the discussion quite vividly and my parents agreed to allow him to come over, and to take
