Not Goodbye...

Tomorrow will be a sad day for my kids and me as we bid a loving farewell to our dance family. We have enjoyed two wonderful years with some of the sweetest people on the planet and our heart breaks to say goodbye to them.

Why are we leaving?

It’s complicated.

But it comes down to opportunity. Since learning about 'company dance teams' a number of years ago at a dance convention it has been my girls' dream to be part of such a team. Our current studio doesn't have this so when we learned that a spot was available on the Intermediate Company Team at another dance studio we decided to audition. Morgan danced her little butt off and was successful in securing a spot. This left us with a difficult decision to make; should we stay at our current studio where we have established wonderful relationships and where we love our teachers, or close our eyes and jump into this unknown arena? Through much contemplation and prayer we decided to make the leap.

It's my kid's dream. How often do you get the chance to follow your dreams? We have to try!

Kiki has also been put into a competitive group that is slated to eventually become a company team as well. She is very excited!

Kudos to my girls for dancing their little hearts out and kudos to their teachers at LSD for making them the dancers they are! We wouldn't have had this chance if it wasn't for you!

So we embark on a new journey; one that includes new friendships, new dance disciplines (modern, hip hop and stage), adjusting to new teachers ...things we are excited about...but it also includes saying goodbye to teachers and friends that we love. It’s been a terribly difficult decision but one that we have to try because it is through challenges and new situations there is the opportunity for great growth. We comfort ourselves with the knowledge that we will re-assess next June and if this 'dream' isn't what the girls are looking for then we will run, with open arms, back to our LSD dance family.

To all of you at LSD--Miss Lisa, Miss Tee, Miss Tara, Miss Loni, Jo' Mamma, Rita, Cathy, Linda, Nicole and all our friends, please know how much we love you and are grateful for all the hugs, the love and the friendships we have made over the past two years. I hope that we can still give you hugs and kisses at competitions and that you will know that you will always hold a very special place in our hearts. So we say goodbye for now but not forever.

We love you all....very much.
Love: Momma L
