Christmas card...

If you know me by now--and I'm assuming that since you read my blog that you probably know more about me than most of my family who are not partakers of the blogosphere--you will know that I don't do Christmas cards.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love to receive them....

I don't like to mail them.

That's right.  I don't like to MAIL them.  I like to carefully chose the prettiest boxed card set with the most meaningful verse, buy them, write in them, include a letter that chronicles the events of the entire year and I even like to address them.  What I don't like to do is MAIL them.

It's because I'm a procrastinator.

I put stuff off.

All the time.

So anyway, back to the Christmas card thingy--my friends get mad at me because year after year they send me cards but I never send any back.  I always have one sitting here on my desk for them but it never makes its way into the post office box.

Actually, one year I did mail them and they got stolen.

Honest to Doug's truth!  Ask the people that didn't get them.  They'll tell you. 

So instead of mailing out cards, I like to do a little slide show.

Please don't confuse that with 'peep show.'  I only do that for Hubby.

So....drum roll, please.....here is my 3rd annual Christmas video card/slide show.   (click on that blue colored section right there.  Yep, right there.  Behind this sentence.  Yep, that's the one!)

Just happened upon your blog, not even sure how now. Maybe one of the books you've read. You look like you've got an awesome family. Certainly beautiful. I feel your pain on the Christmas card thing.

I think you reached a great compromise about your Christmas cards. :-) I hate going to the post office. It is the one place I avoid like the plague during the holidays!

The earth stood still today. No, it wasn't because the planets were aligned. Well if this doesn't completely rock your socks then I don't know what will: Taylor Lautner AND Tom Cruise staring in a movie.. together l  And it's about airplanes!   It's TOP GUN all over again people!  I'm just too excited for words. Now, yes, I admit, Tom did crash and burn in my books after the couch incident on Oprah; and after marrying Katie whats-her-name, but all in all, I still like him.  As long as he doesn't open his mouth except to speak his lines in a movie. And Taylor Lautner.  I know, right?  What a beauty!  I don't have a crush or anything on him (puhlease, I could be his MOTHER!) but my eyes do appreciate the view when he's on the screen.  Yes, my eyes, and ONLY my eyes.  Now, as far as crushes go, you need to talk to my daughter.   Taylor adorns practically every inch of her bedroom walls. Happy 20th Anniversary to Us!!

Yeah, so the old man and I have been hitched for 20 years today.  Been together for 30 years (yes, we started dating when we were BABIES!) and yes, I have been with him for more than 1/2 of my life.  That's pretty crazy when you think of it...he's been there for EVERY major milestone of my life, and I for his.  It's pretty hard for either of us to pull a 'remember when' memory from a period of our lives in which the other person wasn't present.  Oh sure we went off and did things separately, like I lifeguarded for 2 summers in a little town in the Interior, and he lived in the Okanagan for about a year, and he climbed mountains with friends and did hikes that I wasn't part of,  but we were still a couple.   We started dating when I was 14 and he was 17--I had to get special permission from my parents to date him because I wasn't allowed until I was 16.  I remember the discussion quite vividly and my parents agreed to allow him to come over, and to take
