Leaf it to me...

I love the beauty of Autumn.

The colors of the leaves always make me feel that God is wrapping the earth up in a big, multi-colored package and offering us a gift of His love and artistry.

The falling leaves calm me, sadden me a little, and yet renew and enliven me.

Autumn brings me peace and an urge to button up, hunker down, and embrace the love and beauty that is in my family and in my circle of friends.

Autumn makes me appreciate all that I have been given and brings me a spiritual awareness.

Spring does that too.

So does Summer.

Aw, who am I kidding? Winter does it too!

I'm constantly in awe of the Lord's canvas, His palette and the gifts He constantly places at our footsteps.

I'm grateful.

I'm honored.

I'm humbled.

....all because of a perfect, orange, falling leaf.

It's the small things that bring us the greatest pleasures.

I hope you find yours today.

The earth stood still today. No, it wasn't because the planets were aligned. No, it wasn't because yesterday's date was 10/10/10 (which happens only once every 1000 years) No, it wasn't because the month of October has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, in it which, according to Facebook (and we know how reliable that is),only happens once every 823 years. No, it was more phenomenal then all of that. It was because I ironed. Sheets. Yes, I actually ironed sheets. Now, you need to understand that I only pick up my iron to move it from one location to another. Well if this doesn't completely rock your socks then I don't know what will: Taylor Lautner AND Tom Cruise staring in a movie.. together l  And it's about airplanes!   It's TOP GUN all over again people!  I'm just too excited for words. Now, yes, I admit, Tom did crash and burn in my books after the couch incident on Oprah; and after marrying Katie whats-her-name, but all in all, I still like him.  As long as he doesn't open his mouth except to speak his lines in a movie. And Taylor Lautner.  I know, right?  What a beauty!  I don't have a crush or anything on him (puhlease, I could be his MOTHER!) but my eyes do appreciate the view when he's on the screen.  Yes, my eyes, and ONLY my eyes.  Now, as far as crushes go, you need to talk to my daughter.   Taylor adorns practically every inch of her bedroom walls. Scents and Scents-ability

Before I became a Mommy I was a working girl. And when I was a working girl, I was a GOOD smelling working girl. I had my favorites--Tresor, Poison, Giorgio, Ysatis, Tuscany per Donna, Eternity by Calvin Klein, Perry Ellis and Alfred Sung. I had so many perfumes--and I loved them all! Then I became a Mommy and I did away with all my perfumed-ness. Why? I guess I didn't want my baby to have to breathe all that while s/he was trying to nurse. Perfumed flavored milk? Yucky! And...I never went out so why did I need to smell pretty? Wasn't smelling like breast milk, puke and baby poop enough of a sensory overload? Now I'm two things: Mommy and Working Girl. But I'm not a breastfeeding Mommy so you know what that means... BRING ON THE PERFUME!! The other day I went to the store and I was bowled over by the choices!
